Know which diet gives you a healthy and long life ?

If you’re still undecided about which diet to try in 2022, the Mediterranean diet is a good option. The diet was named the best overall diet for 2022 by a panel of experts in U.S. News & World Report’s annual list of best overall diets. According to the research, the Mediterranean diet is more of an eating pattern based on the lives of people who reside in Mediterranean countries than it is a structured diet.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the diet emphasises fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, legumes, olive oil, herbs, and spices. Apart from being the greatest diet overall, the Mediterranean diet also topped the rankings of “Best Plant-Based Diets,” “Best Heart-Healthy Diets,” “Best Diabetes Diets,” “Best Diets for Healthy Eating,” and “Easiest Diets to Follow” provided by U.S. News & World Report.

The Mediterranean diet was also ranked 25th on the list of “Best Fast Weight-Loss Diets” and 12th on the list of “Best Weight-Loss Diets.” Following the Mediterranean Diet, the DASH diet which stands for dietary approaches to stop hypertension and the flexitarian diet tied for second place.

The DASH diet emphasises fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean protein, and low-fat dairy, according to the research, while the flexitarian diet encourages a primarily vegetarian diet with occasional meat “when the impulse strikes,”. The MIND diet, which combines the DASH and Mediterranean diets and focuses on foods that boost brain health, came in fourth place, while the Mayo Clinic Diet, the TLC diet, the Volumetrics diet, and the WW diet (previously Weight Watchers) tied for fifth place.

The Mayo Clinic diet, according to the research, focuses on replacing bad eating habits with good ones and eventually focused on developing a better lifestyle, whereas the TLC diet focuses on lowering cholesterol by consuming vegetables, fruits, bread, pasta, and lean meats. The volumetrics diet, on the other hand, is all about food’s energy density and choosing choices that make you feel less hungry. WWW is about “promoting healthy living and enhancing overall well-being.”
