Appreciating the Centre’s efforts, Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma shared a video featuring a special tune and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seen recognizing it.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also decided to retweet the amazing video on his official social media handle and expressed gratitude to the villagers of KongThong for their kind gesture on November 28 on his official page. “Grateful to the people of Kongthong for this kind gesture. The Government of India is fully committed to boosting the tourism potential of Meghalaya. And yes, have also been seen great pictures of the recent Cherry Blossom Festival in the state. Looks beautiful,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his official Twitter account.
“Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji, please accept this special tune composed by the villagers of Kongthong in your honor & in appreciation of GoI’s efforts in promoting the village as a prime tourism destination,” was tweeted Sangma. The village of Kongthong was recommended by the Ministry of Tourism for the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s ‘Best Tourism Villages’ contest because of the picturesque landscapes and the beauty of the amazing village. The verdure of Kongthong is fully covered in the slopes of the Khal-ar-shnog area. It is located in the East Khasi Hills and is depicted beautifully in the video.
