On the set of Randall Emmett’s Midnight in the Switchgrass, MGK and Fox initially became friends. At the time, Fox was married to actor Brian Austin Green and had three children with him. Kelly was dating another woman at the time, and he was the father of a child from a prior marriage.
After spending time on set together, the two immediately parted ways with their respective relationships and began dating each other. The unusual pair have made news for their public appearances together and social media comments about one another over the past year and a half.
Machine Gun and Megan Fox Kelly’s connection was predetermined from the start since he grew up with a Fox poster above his bed. The fatal touches only continued from then, according to a new joint profile. The duo told the beginning of their self-described “dark fairy tale” on the cover of British GQ Style. Years before their formal debut in 2020, they met on the set of their film Midnight in the Switchgrass at a Los Angeles GQ event. “All I remember is this tall, blond, ghostly apparition looking up at me and saying, ‘You smell like marijuana,'” Fox recalled. “I am marijuana,” he replied as he gazed down at me.
Then he vanished like a ninja in a smoke grenade, I swear to God.” But that wasn’t the case; neither of them recalled seeing the other’s face that night. “I don’t suppose we’d be permitted to see each other yet,” Fox explained. “Because you didn’t have a face, like the monster from Spirited Away, our spirits, our spirit guides, were enticing us away from one another that night.” “Thank The Lord, since it would have been a horror if I’d known you were there couldn’t get in touch with you.” The most exquisite expression of love!
If you believed everything would have returned to normal after that night, you were mistaken. After officially meeting on Midnight in the Switchgrass, the pair enjoyed a memorable first kiss as their love progressed. MGK recalled, “She wouldn’t kiss me.” “We simply pressed our lips together and inhaled one other’s air, and then she just went.” They’ve probably enjoyed a few real kisses since then; their first date took place on the top of L.A.’s Roxy Theatre, with pop-punk music playing in the background. When did they discover they were in love, and when did they realize they were in love? “I made her die laughing in a fort we erected in her living room,” MGK recalls.
The pair continues to be a source of inspiration for one another. Many of the songs on MGK’s next album, Born With Horns, are about Fox, who “reconnected a wire in my head,” according to MGK, and the two are also collaborating on another film. During the magazine cover interview, they even got matching “the darkest fairytale” tattoos on each other. “This is a really passionate bond,” Fox explained.” Our souls selected this to force us to confront our shadow selves; to confront aspects of ourselves that we didn’t want to know and sought to avoid.” We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
