There will be a spin-off of the teen stoner comedy That ’70s Show. Early in October, Netflix revealed That ’90s Show in line with the widespread interest in nostalgia for the decade. It will be produced by the Carsey-Werner Company, just like That ’70s Show, and That ’70s Show creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner will return to write alongside their daughter Lindsey Turner.
To make the new series nostalgic for two reasons, it is hoped that this crew will offer it the same comfortable atmosphere as its predecessor. Since there has already been a lot of anticipation, we have put together a comprehensive guide to all we currently know about That ’90s Show.
That ’90s Show Release date
Netflix hasn’t announced the highly anticipated series’ debut date, but the streaming platform has revealed that the first season will consist of ten episodes.
There still needs to be the word on the production schedule, and spectators are eagerly awaiting a trailer to gain a glimpse into Leia’s world. We’ll be glued to the television like Kelso was to the refrigerator. We’ll simply be sitting here smoking Candy Land until then.
Before the premiere of That ’90s Show, you might need help to view the first season again. That ’70s Show was never picked up for streaming by another platform after it was removed from Netflix in September 2020.
The cast of That ’90s Show
In addition to reprising their Red and Kitty Forman roles, Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp will serve as executive producers. However, more characters from the original program will appear on That ’90s Show. According to Netflix, Leo star Tommy Chong will return, and Topher Grace, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama will make cameos in the follow-up series. It’s unlikely that Steven Hyde, a tough guy from a dysfunctional family who is clever but obsessed with conspiracies, will make a comeback.
In the series finale of That ’70s Show, Hyde dumps Jackie because he thinks she’s cheating on him after discovering Kelso in her hotel room dressed in a towel. Jackie insists that nothing happened, but Hyde storms out. He later returns after taking an impromptu vacation to Las Vegas with Samantha, a stripper who will soon leave him for another guy. The other husband that is.
The series concludes with Hyde obtaining possession of the record shop and rejoicing with his father and Leo, the elderly hippie character depicted as having his head in the clouds (of smoke). Danny Masterson’s character was said to be “a natural troublemaker,” yet the actor is awaiting trial after several assault allegations were made against him. If Hyde doesn’t appear on screen, we anticipate finding out more about his whereabouts because he had such a significant role in the Forman family. Callie Haverda will play Leia Forman in the new television series. Ashley Aufderheide plays the rebellious Riot Grrrl Gwen, Mace Coronel plays Jay, Maxwell Acee Donovan plays Gwen’s more well-liked older brother Nate, and Reyn Doi plays the sarcastic Ozzie. Sam Morelos plays Nate’s smart girlfriend, Nikki, who desperately wants to rebel against her prim and proper image. These actors join Haverda as Leia’s friends.
The plot of That ’90s Show
Leia Forman, the granddaughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pincioti, and her grandparents, Red and Kitty, are the main subjects of That ’90s Show, which is set in 1995. Following Leia and her friends in what we anticipate to be the ’90s twist on the basement hangout, high school drama first loves, and the traditional “circle,” the show will be a continuation of the ’70s-themed series. After graduating high school and beginning his adult life, Eric left Point Place in the seventh season of That ’70s Show. Eric ends up abandoning his longtime love, Donna waiting at the altar on their wedding day because he cannot afford college and is in a manic state. Then, after deciding to go into teaching, he leaves his friends, family, and Vista Cruiser behind and travels to Africa.
The official summary of the series announcement is as follows:
“Good day, Wisconsin! Leia Forman, the daughter of Eric and Donna, spends the summer of 1995 at her grandparent’s house, where she makes friends with a new group of Point Place youngsters while being over by Kitty and Red. Sex and drugs, because rock ‘n’ roll only changes its appearance; it never dies.
There has yet to be a trailer out regarding the show.
