The English by Emily Blunt: What We Know So Far

One of the biggest names in acting right now is Emily Blunt, who plays the role of Jungle Cruise. She has constantly given performances that have resulted in a deservingly prestigious career, whether it be in the time-loop science fiction of Edge of Tomorrow (2014), the hushed dread of A Quiet Place (2018), or the exhilarating intensity of Sicario (2015). Blunt will be one of several big stars in Christopher Nolan’s newest film, Oppenheimer, continuing the successful streak that shows no signs of ending (2023).

By year’s end, Blunt hopes to establish herself in one of the few areas of entertainment she hasn’t yet mastered: television. She did star in the 2005 Ancient Rome miniseries Empire, and she periodically made cameos on shows like The Simpsons (2009), but until today, she hadn’t been the lead in her streaming series. The English are a sweeping revenge tale in the American Wild West written by Hugo Blick (The Honorable Woman). Blunt plays Cornelia Locke, an Englishwoman who leaves England for the West to exact revenge on the guy who killed her newborn son. U.S. Cavalry Scout Eli Whipp (Chaske Spencer), a member of the Pawnee Nation, crosses her way and offers to help Locke in her quest and educate her on how to survive this harsh and ruthless environment.
