The New Zealand coach speaks about Devon Conway’s injury and the loss they might face in the match!

The 30-year-old cherished player is a left-hander and recently injured himself in the recent match. It was exactly when he struck his bat immediately after being stumped off. It was for 46 in Abu Dhabi which happened in the match conducted on Wednesday. Well, New Zealand went ahead to the triumph by five wickets in their hands. As per the reports, an X-ray has now confirmed the fracture that happened to Conway in the match. It was ruling Conway out of Sunday’s final. 

The match is scheduled to be played against the Australian Team for which many have been eagerly waiting for sure.  “He’s absolutely gutted to be ruled out like this at this time,” was stated by the New Zealand coach, Gary Stead. “Devon is hugely passionate about playing for the Black Caps and no one is more disappointed at the moment than he is – so we’re really trying to rally around him”, he then added. “It looked a pretty innocuous reactionary incident on the field, but the blow obviously caught the bat between the glove padding. “

“While it’s not the smartest thing he’s done, there’s certainly an element of bad luck in the injury. Devon is a great team man and a very popular member of the side so we’re all feeling for him. He’s determined to support the team in any way he can for the remainder of the tour before he returns home to recover” he stated. Well, it is a fact that Conway has kept wicket for most of New Zealand’s T20 World Cup series and fans are looking forward to the speedy recovery of the player for the upcoming campaign. 

Along with that his top-four batting role, Conway has also kept wicket for all but one of his side’s matches in the series so far. However, as per the reports given, Stead has officially announced that the team will not be having any replacement for Devon Conway. Although he has an injury, Stead has stated that the team will not bring in a replacement for Conway in the finals which is scheduled to happen on Sunday. Also, he has stated that there will be no replacement for Devon Conway in the upcoming India series which is scheduled to happen later. 

After the news of Conway’s injury was out and then the news of his fracture was available online fans were left upset. However, their support has not decreased even a bit and they will be supporting the team of New Zealand in the upcoming match to the fullest.
