Well the cricket fans are eagerly waiting to know about the players who will be opening India’s innings in the T20 World Cup 2021 and finally the news has been confirmed and the player’s names are revealed. The decision regarding India’s opening combination in the T20 World Cup 2021 was all in the hands of Virat Kohli and he confirmed the names decided by the team. Well, as per the records of the decision has been laid to rest as skipper Virat Kohli confirmed Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul with the players who will initiate all the proceedings for Team India this year in the gala tournament.

Well also as per the reports given before, Virat Kohli said that he would be opening India’s innings at the T20 World Cup 2021 during the T20I series along with Rohit. The Indian team in the series was playing against England this year. However, KL Rahul enjoyed a sensational run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. His performance made Virat Kohli change his decision and Kohli gave the major update during the toss session of the warm-up game. The match was set between India and England. It was happening at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.

The Indian skipper Kohli also went on to state that he was initially planning to open the innings. However, Rahul’s performance in IPL truly went successful to hit the headlines, and thus he changed his decision. Kohli stated, “Things were different before IPL, now it’s difficult to look beyond KL Rahul at the top of the order. Rohit is a no-brainer. World-class player, he’s been solid upfront. I will be batting at 3. That’s the only news I can give to start off,” he said during the toss. In 13 matches, Rahul got 626 runs with his average being 62.6 and 138.80 respectively.

Thus the team management decided to slot Rahul at the top. Well, the Indian skipper and his deputy gave 405 and 381 runs. Also, their average being below 30 was not a great performance. Meanwhile, Kohli stated, “Adaptability is what matters. People play different roles in their IPL teams. It’s about adapting quickly to this team now, who plays where is what matters. We are pretty sorted in terms of how we are going to start in the first game.” However, all the cricket fans are happy with the decision made by Virat Kohli and also have shown their support to the Indians skipper as soon as the news was available online.
