India was considered one of the strongest contenders for the title in the T20 World Cup 2021 and everyone expected that Virat Kohli’s team would start their campaign in the best way by defeating Pakistan. But unfortunately, team India was defeated by Pakistan and faced the 10 wicket defeat resulting in the break-in of their winning streak. This loss against Pakistan has become a topic of conversation for everyone and now the fight to reach the semi-finals has become a do-or-die match.
Now on October 31st team India will compete against New Zealand and if India gets defeated by the kiwi team then unfortunately they have to return home without lifting the world cup trophy. This has become the reason why captain Virat Kohli seems to be in charge of making some changes in the playing XI in this important match. Well by looking at the pictures of the practice session which have been circulated it seems like captain Virat Kohli and other team members are giving their best to win this match.
BCCI took to Twitter and posted some pictures of team India’s practice. As per the photos they shared on their Twitter handle, it can be seen that all the players are doing the catching practice in groups of four. Virat Kohli is seen in the group along with Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, and Varun Chakraborty. By looking at Shardul’s practice on the field it can be said that Virat is in full mood to include him in the playing XI against New Zealand. While in another photo Ishan Kishan is seen doing fielding practice. Shardul’s recent form has been awesome and he is instrumental in making Chennai Super Kings champion under Dhoni in the IPL.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not look in the rhythm against Pakistan so there is a chance that Shardul can be chosen in this place and talking about this, another good news for the Indian team it has received from the practice session is that the all-rounder Hardik Pandya looked completely fit and he was also seen bowling after a long time. And of course, Hardik cannot be kept on the bench for much time considering the way Ishan performed in the warm-up matches. So Hardik Pandya fans may see him playing the match now.
Virat Kohli has also said during the post-match press conference that this prequel help them to practice more and talking about this he said, “so far as these big breaks are definitely something that going to help us as a teaching to be in the prime physical condition that we need to play this high-intensity tournament.”
And according to the skipper, these big breaks will also give them enough time to restart a choice and focus on the perfect execution of plans before the New Zealand match. He said, “The T20 World Cup is always a high-intensity tournament and it will help us again to regroup as a team, prepare in a very confident manner and then arrive on the date again to make sure that this time we execute our plans.”
While talking about the match and the defeat to Pakistan, he said that the team knows where they went wrong and will take corrective measures for it. He said, “We know exactly how the game went and where it went wrong and we have absolute clarity of that and that’s a good thing to know where we went wrong as a team. We can work on it and try to correct it and move forward because we still have a lot of matches in this tournament.”
