WhatsApp has announced the launch of its Communities feature.

In an official blog post, the business stated that Communities will allow users to “get updates posted to the entire Community and simply establish smaller discussion groups on what matters to them.” The functionality will also give admins new capabilities, such as the ability to send out announcement messages to everyone and control over which groups can be included.

The messaging platform’s goal with the feature is to make it simple for schools, local groups, and non-profit organisations to connect everyone under one roof and eliminate communication gaps. In a blog post, the messaging platform stated, “We hope Communities will make it easier for a school principal to gather all of the parents of the school together to exchange must-read notifications and set up groups regarding specific subjects, extracurricular activities, or volunteer needs.”

New functionality for WhatsApp groups.

Reactions, admin deletion, file sharing, and huge voice calls are among the four new group features added by WhatsApp.

-Reactions

Emoji replies are coming to WhatsApp, allowing users to rapidly express themselves without having to send fresh messages. To respond to someone in the group, you must currently send a message.

-Delete Admin

Group admins will soon be able to delete incorrect or problematic messages from everyone’s chats in WhatsApp.

-Shared Files

The messaging platform will also handle files up to 2 terabytes in size, making it easier for users to collaborate on projects.

-Voice Calls With a Greater Volume

WhatsApp has already increased the number of people who may participate in group calls from four to eight. Voice calling for up to 32 users at a time has now been added to the company’s offerings. The voice call interface on WhatsApp has also been changed.

According to WhatsApp, these capabilities will “spread out in the next weeks so people can start trying them out even before Communities are ready.” These features will be made available to beta testers before being made available to the general public.
