When First Kill will be released on Netflix, Know here?

A classic narrative-an adolescent vampiress meets a teen vampire huntress, and their parents demand that they kill one other. We don’t think we’ve ever seen this one before!

In their new summer series, First Kill, Netflix is completely flipping the script on the young adult vampire movie stereotype of “ancient (really creepy) vampire male who falls in love with a young, human girl.”

Finally, instead of queer-baiting and dancing around sexuality for seasons on end, we’ll get to witness a queer adolescent supernatural romance series that isn’t ashamed to highlight gay relationships. We’ll be there in force.

Vampires Never Get Old:

Tales with Fresh Bite is based on V.E. Schwab’s New York Times bestselling short story First Kill. The series was initially announced by the streaming giant in 2020, with the author taking to Twitter on October 16, 2020 to say that it was in the works “Netflix has awarded us a series order, which was announced today.

We have a showrunner, a writing crew, and a room, and this tale that I would have liked to witness as a teen is now coming to life in some way.” According to Deadline, showrunner Felicia D. Henderson and Schwab have signed on as executive producers with Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss through Belletrist Productions.

Henderson told Shadow and Act in an interview that she was first intrigued to the story of First Kill after seeing her goddaughter’s coming-out journey. “And I wanted to be a part of a world that reflected her experience as normal,” she said. And while queer relationships are perfectly natural, Juliette and Calliope’s predicament is not.

Find out everything we know so far about V.E. Schwab’s short story adaptation, including the cast, plot, sneak peeks, and upcoming news, in the sections below.

What is the plot of First Kill?

When it comes time for Juliette, a young vampire, to perform her first kill in order to join her powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on Calliope, the new girl in town. But things are about to get tricky when Juliette learns that Calliope is a vampire hunter from from a long line of illustrious slayers and is on a mission to kill her first vampire in order to join her family’s hunt.

Both discover that their goals and objectives are far from straightforward — and far too easy to fall for. Juliette Fairmont, played by Sarah Catherine Hook, comes out as a quiet, gentle girl who was born a vampire and is determined to avoid becoming a monster.

Will her desire for genuine love jeopardise her family’s legacy?

Calliope “Cal” Burns, played by Imani Lewis, is a brave, unyielding monster hunter whose tough façade cracks when she is pulled between familial duty and the promise of romance.

First Kill cast?

As previously stated, Sarah Catherine Hook portrays vampire Juliette, while Imani Lewis portrays her huntress lover Calliope. Elizabeth Mitchell, Will Swenson, Aubion Wise, Jason Robert Moore, Gracie Dzienny, Dylan McNamara, Dominic Goodman, Phillip Mullings Jr., MK xyz, Jonas Dylan Allen, and Roberto Mendez are among the Romeo and Juliette-esque (or Juliette and Juliette, in this case) cast members.

Is there a First Kill trailer?

On May 12, Netflix published a trailer for First Kill.
