Angelina Jolie, who will play the superhero Thena in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Eternals, has discussed what makes her character so compelling.
“I was captivated by this concept for many reasons,” Angelina remarked in a global news conference about Thena. MCU is one of my favorite shows. Chloe was one of my favorite actresses (Zhao, director). When they originally approached me about the story, it was the cast who spoke to me. It was a vision of what this family may become.”
“I wanted to be a part of this family,” Angelina Jolie continued.
“Before I even knew who I was going to portray,” Angelina Jolie continued. But, as I learned about Thena, and since one of Chloe’s specialties is adding truth to a picture, that’s one of the things she contributes to this.”
Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Kit Harington, Richard Madden, Brian Tyree Henry, Gemma Chan, and Barry Keoghan are all-stars in Eternals. On November 5, ‘Eternals’ will light up the screens for Diwali.
Many of the actors were picked to bring out something from their own life, “something inside ourselves that maybe we weren’t even aware of,” according to Jolie. Then let it live and flourish within the picture. So she’s perhaps the most wonderful superhero I’ve ever played. My children, on the other hand, said it was the most like me.”
The actress said that discussing Thena is “difficult.”
“However, her frailty and what she’s seeking to balance—as well as being able to be in the same room as a woman who is also regarded to be quite strong. I believe that in order to be powerful, we must often be totally present. Nonetheless, I believe she possesses both, as do the majority of individuals. It’s also crucial to see it.
