At IMDb TV, Phil Lord and Chris Miller have set a ‘Western’ comedy.

Creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller, fresh off Apple’s The Afterparty, are joining up with screenwriter Michelle Morgan for just a comedy series at Amazon-backed IMDb TV. The ad-supported streamer has given a pilot order to Sony TV’s Lord and Miller, who will executive produce the scripted comedic Western.
The storey follows a high-society young woman who travels to the West in pursuit of a marriage only to realise that she has been catfished by a teenage boy. Polly and the other residents of the village are now stranded, and they must find their place in the ever-changing new world, where they must confront and resist all of society’s expectations along the way.

Along with Lord, Miller, and their company’s Karim Zreik, Morgan (It Happened in L.A., Girl Most Likely) will create the script and exec produce. The comedy, which is a Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios co-production, will be produced by Lord Miller’s Aubrey Lee.
IMDb TV’s latest scripted venture is Western, which joins the likes of Mike Schur’s Primo, Leverage: Redemption, Alex Rider, and the Bosch spinoff on the increasing roster.

Western, meantime, joins Apple’s newly renewed comedy The Afterparty, HBO Max’s Clone High update, and a slate of TV shows based on Sony’s Marvel characters on Lord and Miller’s TV schedule. The Oscar-winning pair has signed a lucrative five-year deal with Sony TV.
Morgan is represented by Morris Barnes and UTA. Lord Miller is represented by Ziffren Brittenham and UTA.
