Black Adam Movie | Release Date, Cast, Review, Trailer (2022)

Although it has taken a while, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s DC Extended Universe debut is finally scheduled to hit theatres. Shazamspinoff ! ‘s sequel, Black Adam, stars the legendary wrestler and actor as the titular antihero. Since the early 2000s, the film has been in production and is now about to hit theatres. The first champion of the Wizard Shazam is a powerful being on par with Superman called Black Adam.

Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Johnson’s most recent Disney film, Jungle Cruise, is the director of Black Adam. The story for the movie was by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani. The film, which also stars Adam, will have numerous adored members of the Justice Society of America, making it a must-see for DC fans. We’ve compiled all the information about Black Adam, from the plot and casting news to updates on filming and release dates, to help you get ready for this exciting new DCEU movie.

Black Adam Release date

The American debut of Black Adam is currently ready for October 21, 2022. The movie was initially ready to hit theatres on December 22, 2021, but the COVID-19 epidemic forced the cancellation of those plans. Before deciding on the current release date, the movie was finally on July 29, 2022.

The cast of Black Adam

In addition to Dwayne Johnson, the cast of Black Adam will feature Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan as several iconic DC characters. Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, Bodhi Sabongui, Mo Amer, and Uli Latukefu are more cast members; their roles have not yet been made public.

Despite the film’s connections to Shazam!, Asher Angel and Levi won’t be returning to their respective roles of Billy Batson and Shazam in Black Adam. That’s fortunate, though, as the movie will have far more superheroes than is necessary.

The movie’s main character is, of course, Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Teth-Adam, an enslaved person who was born in Kahndaq as Adam, is a bold and inherently noble individual. Although he has the best intentions, he is a brutal warrior who will kill anyone standing in his path without hesitation.

Shahi will play Adrianna Tomaz, a professor and resistance fighter in Kahndaq, in the film, in addition to Adam. Adrianna eventually transforms into the superhero Isis in the comic books, where she then marries Black Adam. She controls Adam’s inclinations toward violence and steers him in the direction of more valiant endeavours. We will have to wait and see if the character follows a similar course in the film.

Other members:

The Justice Society of America, a multigenerational group of superheroes who were the forerunners of the Justice League, will also appear in Black Adam. Only a small number of the many heroes from the JSA’s roster (which has Adam) will be in the film.

Atom Smasher, a JSA member who can alter his size and density, will be by Centineo. In Season 2 of The Flash, Adam Copeland portrayed the character in a different iteration.

Hodge will play Hawkman. Hawkman, the head of the JSA, is a former royal of ancient Egypt. He is an archaeologist in this incarnation and has wings made of Nth metal, an alien substance.

Popular character Hawkman has previously appeared in live-action films, animated series, and comic books. Michael Shanks portrayed the role in Smallville, and Falk Hentschel did so in The CW’s Arrowverse.

Swindell portrays Cyclone, a different JSA member. She is the first Red Tornado’s grandchild, and a cyclone can control wind and sound. Hawkgirl was initially going to take her place on the squad, but the character was ultimately cut from the film.

The film’s final member of the JSA is Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan. The Helmet of Fate chose Nelson, an archaeologist’s kid, to become a mystical superhero and protect the world from the forces of chaos. In case you were wondering, Doctor Strange is not a knockoff of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme because Doctor Fate was first published 23 years before Doctor Strange. Brent Stait portrayed the character in Smallville, and variations of it have also appeared in numerous DC animated programmes and video games.

The fictionally named Intergang, an international gang of criminals, will also appear in the film. Bodhi Sabongui will also apparently portray an important but unnamed Black Adam comic book character.

The plot of Black Adam

Kahndaq was an authoritarian state during Adam’s time that used magic and sorcery to enslave portions of its populace. But after becoming the Champion, Adam used his influence to free his people and establish himself as Kahndaq’s ruler.

After his family was murdered. Adam—who had once been a hero—turned to evil and accidentally let loose the demons as the Seven Deadly Sins. Adam had once been a hero and was away due to his crimes. And Black Adam will witness his release from jail after 5000 years when he will be to restore Kahndaq to its former splendour.

“From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure “Black Adam.” The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”

Trailer

On June 8, 2022, the first official Black Adam trailer debuted online, giving us our first comprehensive look at the movie following several teases and clips. The Justice Society of America must fight the titular character after he awakens from a 5,000-year nap in the trailer. Hawkman once says to Black Adam, “Heroes don’t kill people,” to which the antihero retorts, “Well, I do.” The trailer didn’t disappoint us with plenty of superhero action, humour, a snide reference to the previous Iron Man film, and The Rock being The Rock (as Black Adam).
