Deep-sea monster washes up on US beach! Read the full story here!

Nature is full of beauty and it never fails to impress us with its beauty and importance. It definitely makes us realise that the world is so diverse and we will never stop getting surprises, well, sometimes it can be good and bad too.

Almost every day across the globe, things wash up on beaches, from which, some of them manage to shock people. The deep sea has so many diverse creatures, many which will blow your mind. Well, that’s the case here as this one will blow your mind too .

There’s a sea creature, which is known as a ‘deep-sea monster’ , was spotted by a person. This incident happened at Black’s Beach, which is located in Torrey Pines in the San Diego area.

According to reports, Jay Beiler, the one who spotted the sea creature, said he went for a walk on the beach in the evening on 13th November, this was when he came across a scary-looking fish.

While he was looking from a distance, Beiler thought that the mysterious creature was a jellyfish. But as he got closer to the spot, he slowly realised it was something else, something he had never seen before, actually by anyone.

So before he headed towards his home, he clicked three pictures of the mysterious creature and shared them with others and thus spread them on the internet. After he sent out the photos to others, he came to know that the creature was a Pacific Footballfish.

For the ones who don’t know what a Footballfish is, let us tell you. Footballfish, which are scientifically known as Himantolophidae, are known to live in deep waters that may range from 3,000-4,000 feet deep. Football fishes are mostly found in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans, and the fish was first discovered in the year 1837 by Johan Reinhardt, who is a professor of zoology.

The photos clicked by Beiler showcased how the creature looks. The fish had knife-sharp teeth, spikes on its sides, and a projectile flowing out of its forehead.

While talking about the fish, Beiler said that the fish looked like a “stuff of nightmares” and it was a very unusual fish. He said that he never witnessed such a mysterious looking fish. He first thought that it was a jellyfish, but later found it unusual. “I have never seen anything quite like this before. At first, I thought it was a — like a jellyfish or something, and then I went and looked at it a little more carefully, and some other people were gathered around it too, and then I saw that it was this very unusual fish. It’s the stuff of nightmares — mouth almost looked bloody,” Beiler was quoted as saying by NBC 7 San Diego.

The channel then sent the creature’s photos to the scientists at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Ben Frable, the collection manager of the marine vertebrate collection at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, said that the fish which was found by Beiler was one of the larger species of anglerfish, seen only a few times in California. He said,“This is one of the larger species of anglerfish, and it’s only been seen a few times here in California, but it’s found throughout the Pacific Ocean,”

Another football fish washed ashore at California beach earlier this year, but was completely black in colour with sharp teeth and a football-like body. The fish was found on the shore of Crystal Cove State Park’s Marine Protected Area located in Laguna Beach.
