India has the 3 richest billionaires known worldwide

The well renowned prestigious Forbes magazine has announced recently that Mukesh Ambani successfully reclaimed as Asia’s richest person by taking over the spot which was previously owned by renowned Chinese business tycoon, Jack Ma. As per the Forbes 35th annual list, which announces the world’s richest billionaires, Mukesh Ambani became the wealthiest person in Asia acquiring the rank of 10th position among the list of global billionaires. Along with that, the other two people acknowledged as the richest billionaires in Asia by Forbes are from India too. Forbes said that the 3 richest Indians alone have added more than $100 billion between them. Currently, India has the 3rd highest number of billionaires and this news has been on headlines for so long.

The three richest billionaires:

Mukesh Ambani ranks first followed by Gautam Adani and Cyrus Poonawalla who rank 7th on the list. Adani group’s chairman is the 2nd richest person in the country in 2021 and as per the global list of billionaires, he ranks 24th position. Reportedly, Adani has a net worth of $50.5 billion. Talking about the chairman of the Poonawalla Group, Cyrus Poonawalla is also famously known to be the founder of the Serum Institute of India. He has a net worth of $12.7 billion and currently, Poonawalla ranks 169th position in the list of world’s billionaires officially released by Forbes. Forbes also reported that the total count of Indian billionaires this year is 140, whereas the previous year it was only 102. Ambani himself has added around $48 billion last year. Adani had added $42 billion to his fortune. As per the other data provided, the US has the most number of billionaires with a total count of 724. China has around 698 billionaires and altogether around 1149 billionaires have been addressed from the Asia-Pacific countries. They have a total worth of $4.7 trillion.  

Well, as per the reports, there is always a new billionaire reported every 17 hours including 210 from China and Hong Kong and 98 from the US, taking the record high up to 493 newcomers to the list of this year. Talking about other billionaires who have been leading the list, includes Bernard Arnault, becoming the 3rd richest person in the globe, followed by Bill Gates and Mark Zukerberg. Amazon’s CEO and founder, Jeff Bezos top the list having a net worth of $177 billion as per the records shared by Forbes. The SpaceX founder Elon Musk holds the 2nd spot in the list as his Tesla shares went up to 705 percent. The youngest billionaire on the entire list is none other than the 18-year-old Kevin David Lehmann. His net worth is $3.3 billion and ranks 925 on the list. Other Indian top billionaires include RadhaKishan Damani, D-Mart founder, Uday Kotak – CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Lakshmi Mittal –  Executive chairman of the ArcelorMittal, Kumar Mangalam Birla- the Chairman of Aditya Birla Group, Dilip Shanghvi- the founder of the Sun Pharmaceuticals and Sunil Mittal- the founder and the chairman of the Bharti Enterprises have been addressed in the list.  The richest women on the list who have been noted this year are the cosmetics heir Franchoise Bettencourt Meyers from France. She has a net worth of $73.6 billion.
