Future action-drama The Woman King is being by Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Old Guard). The screenplay was co-written by Prince-Bythewood and Dana Stevens (Fatherhood) and was based on a Maria Bello narrative (A History of Violence). This film, which stars Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis (Fences) as a character we haven’t seen before, is based on the true epic story of the Dahomey Amazons and their struggle for survival.
