The Flash | Story, Powers, TV Show, & Facts

Barry Allen/The Flash (Ezra Miller), who goes back in time to stop his mother’s murder—for which his father was wrongfully imprisoned, as revealed in Zack Snyder’s Justice League—ends up producing a butterfly effect and exploring alternative worlds throughout the multiverse. That is how Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s portrayals of at least two returning Batmans will be featured in The Flash.

Unofficially references the Flashpoint comic book storyline. The Flash is anticipated to serve as the focal point of Warner Bros.’ revised plan to establish a common multiverse for its DC Comics motion pictures and television programs.

DC will go deeply into the multiverse in The Flash film.

The Scarlet Speedster’s debut solo film is slated to perform a similar function for the Distinguished Competition, much like Loki and Spider-Man: No Way Home have opened the door to alternate realities inside Marvel’s expansive universe.

But it wouldn’t be quite correct to refer to this as the Flash’s first solo adventure. Since the movie will feature several well-known DC characters, including a Supergirl and at least two Batmen, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck both confirmed to don their fabled cowls once more, alongside Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen.

The heroes will be brought together by a time-jumping scenario that is based on the renowned “Flashpoint” arc from the comics, as Barry goes across realities in the hopes of saving his late mother, potentially altering history and the DCEU as a whole.

Following the completion of filming and the announcement of a November 2022 release date, here is all we currently know about The Flash movie.

Release Date

The Flash will be released on November 4, 2022, in theatres.

Storyline of The Flash

Barry Allen, a lightning-quick native of Central City, will reportedly use the Speed Force in the film to go back in time and stop his mother’s death, which is terrible news for his timeline but perhaps excellent news for blockbuster entertainment.

Cast of The Flash

Kiersey Clemons, Sasha Calle, Ron Livingston, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, and two well-known Caped Crusaders in Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton join Ezra Miller in his Justice League role as Barry Allen/the Flash. We anticipate that the cast will include a few unexpected cameos.

Release date for The Flash is November 2022.

Director Andy Muschietti stated in an Instagram post that the movie’s production finally began in London in April 2021 and ended in October. The release date of The Flash is now set on November 4, 2022, a few weeks before the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

We may have watched The Flash in 2018 in a different part of the multiverse. But the standalone Barry Allen story for the DC Extended Universe has been stuck in production limbo for years, with a good number of writers and filmmakers attached along the way.

Warner and DC didn’t choose the cast that would present the film to the cameras until July 2019. They hired IT director Andy Muschietti and Christina Hodson, who wrote the screenplays for Birds of Prey and Bumblebee, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Plot of The Flash: Unlocking the Multiverse of DC

Although we don’t know much about the tale itself, we do know that the premise of The Flash is mainly based on the renowned 2011 comic book story arc Flashpoint by Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert. In fact, Flashpoint was originally going to be the name of the movie until it was changed to The Flash.

The story’s comic book adaptation places Barry Allen in an alien other reality where his deceased mother is still alive, Aquaman’s kingdom of Atlantis is at war with Wonder Woman’s country, Themyscira, and Thomas Wayne became Batman rather than his killed son, Bruce.

In the movie, Barry will attempt to save his mother Nora by using his time-traveling skills, but unwittingly cause significant disruptions to the space-time continuum.

DC Fandome teaser for The Flash movie trailer

It’s still too early for a full-length trailer for The Flash given the lack of time travel antics of Barry Allen. But we did get a tantalising sneak peek at the DC Fandome virtual event in October 2021. Even though there is just a minute of video, there is still plenty to get you enthusiastic about the Scarlet Speedster’s debut as the star of a film, featuring a cameo from the Caped Crusader.

Barry’s new neon-drenched attire is also seen, and the film ends with an unusual view of three figures.
