Journalist asks Kohli if Ishan Kishan should’ve played in place of Rohit Sharma, here’s what Virat Kohli answered!

Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup opener. It’s the first time this has happened in the World Cup – with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan hitting half-centuries in order to pull off a clinical chase of 152 with two overs to spare. Well, after the match was over, Virat Kohli faced a bizarre question during the post-match press conference which left him all shocked.

However, after the match, when Kohli attended the post-match presser, he was welcomed by a reporter who asked the India captain whether he should have considered playing Ishan Kishan ahead of Rohit Sharma, who was out for a golden duck in the first over of the match to Shaheen Afridi. The reporter actually talked about dropping or leaving Rohit Sharma out of the XI ahead of this game. This question was all of a sudden and Virat Kohli seemed to be really shocked after hearing this.

At first, Virat Kohli gave a look before going ahead with the answer, and then he said, “It is a very brave question, what do you think sir? Because I played the XI I thought was the best. What do you think? What is your opinion? You will drop Rohit Sharma from T20 internationals? Do you know what he did in the last game?”  Virat Kohli said before taking a pause.

And then after a brief sigh, Virat Kohli started laughing at the question and then he said, “Unbelievable. Sir, if you want controversy, tell me before so that I can answer accordingly.” Although Virat Kohli had a smile throughout the time on his face, surely it was also seen that the question asked by the reporter gave him a bit of shock. Virat Kohli may have faced these all of a sudden types of bizarre questions and is just another addition to it.

Well, in addition to this, there were also some questions asked by some reporters that were simply “questionable”. In fact, the very next question asked by a reporter as if India was overconfident, but it seems that Virat Kohli was in quite a generous mood and this was about giving classy replies, as the honest Indian captain, who just lost one of the biggest matches of the calendar.

Rohit Sharma missed India’s first T20 World Cup warm-up game which was against England and in that match, Ishant scored a blazing half-century and then retired out after he scored 70. Rohit Sharma then returned in the second game which was against Australia and he hit a half-century on the other hand for Ishan it was the third half-century in a row, having hit back-to-back fifties for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.
