PM Narendra Modi meets Indian Tokyo Olympic contingents and hosts a breakfast at his residence

On 16 August, Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arranged breakfast at his residence along with Indian athletes who returned from Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Indian athletes who have returned from Tokyo along with seven medals for India which includes great winners such as Neeraj Chopra, who won a gold medal and made history. Indeed, all athletes played their best game and it was the best ever performance of the country at the Olympics.

Along with the great gold win of Neeraj Chopra, India also won two silver medals and four bronze medals at Tokyo Olympics 2020. Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting and Ravi Kumar Dahiya in wrestling won silver medals. On the other hand, the four bronze medals were won by PV Sindhu in badminton, men’s hockey team, Lovlina Borgohain in boxing, and by Bajrang Punia in wrestling.

These athletes have made India proud and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has uploaded the Indian athletes in the show during the 75th independence day celebration, conducted at Red fort on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was talking about Neeraj Chopra’s historic gold win and also about the bronze medalist PV Sindhu as they became the second Indian and first woman who won two Olympic medals.

After praising the performance of all the athletes during the celebration of India’s 75th independence Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to host breakfast at his residence for the Olympic returned Indian athletes.

Who all were present at the breakfast?

India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra was present at the breakfast as he won a historic gold win as he became the first to win a gold medal in track and field events for India. The Prime Minister was interacting with him very well and he was also seen interacting with India’s best badminton player PV Sindhu as she became the first Indian female athlete who won two individual medals at Olympics. Similarly, PV Sindhu also made India proud when she won a silver medal in the 2016 Olympics.

Also, the Indian men’s hockey team has created history as they clinched a spot at the podium for the first time in 41 years. The bronze medallist winners, Maninder Singh and Co, were also present at the breakfast and spent some amazing time while having a chat with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as he was examining a hockey stick.

Ravi Kumar Dhaiya and Bajrang Punia, Indian wrestlers returned home with the silver and bronze medals respectively. Along with Anshu Malik and Seema Bisla, coach Jagmandar Singh was also present with them. Vinesh Phogat who got suspended by WFI was also present.

Bajrang Punia expressed happiness on Twitter and he expressed that he felt very fortunate and delighted as he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further tweeted that PM Modi has supported him and all the athletes over the years and he is confident that it will continue for the years.

India’s great weightlifter Mirabai Chanu who was the one who opened India’s first account at Tokyo Olympics 2020 on the first day of competition with the silver medal was also present there. And also bronze medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain was also present. In addition to this, the women’s hockey team who reached the maiden Olympic semi-final was also present in this small get-together.

All the athletes who represented India in Tokyo Olympics 2020 tried their best and made India proud. These winners who won medals for their country and made India happy deserve to get so much spotlight and importance too. The way Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated them for their win and made them feel special is really happy to see. We all hope that all the Indian athletes will get much importance and respect for their hard work in this Olympics.
